BKRLab Space Weather Alerts is operated by Todd Baker, Lowell, MA. This page explains how we handle information collected from SMS subscribers.
Information We Collect
When you text START to +1 (361) 336-0888 or submit the web unsubscribe form, we collect your mobile phone number solely for the purpose of delivering space weather alert messages and processing your opt-out request.
How We Use Your Number
- To send you space weather alert SMS messages from NOAA SWPC data.
- To confirm your subscription or unsubscription request.
- For no other purpose. Your number is not sold, shared, or used for marketing.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on space weather activity. During quiet conditions this may be zero messages per week; during active geomagnetic storm periods it may be several per day. Standard message and data rates apply.
How to Stop Receiving Messages
Text STOP to +1 (361) 336-0888 at any time to unsubscribe. You will receive one final confirmation message and no further alerts will be sent. You may also use the web unsubscribe form.
Help

Data Retention
Phone numbers are retained only while a subscription is active. Numbers are removed from our records upon unsubscription. Message delivery logs may be retained by our SMS provider (Twilio) subject to their own data retention policies.
Third-Party Services
SMS messages are delivered via Twilio, Inc. Twilio's privacy policy governs the handling of message delivery data on their platform. Space weather data is sourced from NOAA's public Space Weather Prediction Center APIs โ no personal data is sent to NOAA.
